Welcome to the Edinburg Police Department website. Our department is focused on providing excellent service to those who live, work and play in our three time All-America city. Edinburg is the county seat of Hidalgo County which is a border county along the Rio Grande River across from Mexico. Edinburg is the fastest growing city in the Rio Grande Valley and offers a variety of entertainment from sporting events such as professional basketball and soccer to the highest quality of musical concerts and is home to the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

On behalf of the entire Edinburg Police Department, I would like to thank you for taking time to learn more about the men and women in blue.  Our department takes great pride in building strong partnerships with our residents, business community and those just passing through. We are dedicated to service and partnering with our community to maintain a safe environment through forged relationships in the many programs we offer such as the Citizen’s Police Academy and the Edinburg Clergy and Police Partnership.
