Interlibrary Loans

Policy Statement:
The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library borrows and lends out library material through Interlibrary Loan thus enhancing and extending the resources available to its users. Because the Library cannot purchase or subscribe to every useful resource, Interlibrary Loan is an essential part of its mission to meet the information needs of the community.

To Make an Interlibrary Loan Request:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) provides access for library patrons to books not currently available at this library, and provides books from our collection to all eligible requesting libraries. Interlibrary Loan will not obtain books for people who have outstanding obligations to the library such as overdue fines, lost book fees, or overdue material.

Making a Request:
When filling out the Interlibrary Loan Request form, it is important that you fill out all of the information completely and legibly. All requests are processed as quickly as possible. All orders are dependent on the lending library's manpower and policies.

Formats:
The only material/s borrowed from, or lend to, other libraries are books – no audiovisual materials. Bestsellers nor current releases will not be lend nor requested from other libraries. The Library also fulfills patrons’ requests for articles from periodicals, but only as Xerox copies – no originals. Patrons receive article copies free of charge.

Number of Items:
Patrons are limited to 2 ILL requests per check out period.

Pick Up and Return of Material:
ILL material must be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Return books borrowed through Interlibrary Loan to the Circulation Desk or to the book drop box.

Renewals:
A patron is allowed to renew Interlibrary Loan book/s, as long as the owning library grants permission.

Fees For Books:
Overdue charges apply to ILL books. The charges for lost ILL book/s and processing fee are up to the discretion of the lending institution. Lost ILL books must be paid with a Money Order; No Cash, Debit Card, Credit Card or Check will be accepted.
