City Council Proclaims May as Lupus Awareness Month, May 19 as Put on Purple Day
Edinburg, Texas (May 17, 2017) – The Edinburg City Council proclaimed May 2017 as Lupus Awareness Month and May 19 as Put on Purple Day.
The month is dedicated to promote awareness and support for those who are impacted by the disease. Approximately 1.5 million Americans suffer from Lupus.
Lupus is a chronic inflammatory, autoimmune disease that can affect various parts of the body like the skin, joints, blood, and kidneys.
The Lupus Foundation of America Lone Star Chapter is devoted to solve the mystery of lupus and provide support to those who suffer from the disease.
Edinburg residents are encouraged to wear purple on Friday, May 19 to support the cause of raising awareness of lupus.
