Edinburg Announces Cesar Torres as New Chief of Police
EDINBURG, TEXAS (Dec. 20, 2018) – The City of Edinburg announced the hiring of Cesar Torres as the new Chief of Police for the Edinburg Police Department.
The announcement was made at a press event held at the Edinburg City Hall Council Chambers Thursday morning.
Mayor Richard Molina said, “A department our size needs a strong leader and it won’t be long before Cesar Torres takes on that role in our great City of Edinburg.”
Torres brings 27 years of law enforcement experience to Edinburg.
“Edinburg Police Department will adhere to the Golden Rule – treat everyone as we would like to be treated,” Torres said. “We will never forget that without our citizens we are nothing.
Torres will begin his role as chief of police Jan. 7, 2019.
