City Council Proclaims Sept. 25 as National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims in Edinburg
Edinburg, Texas (Sept. 20, 2017) – The Edinburg City Council issued a proclamation to mark Sept. 25 as National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims in Edinburg.
National Day of Remembrance was established in 2007 by the National Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) to honor the memory of victims who have been killed. The day is also intended to acknowledge the long-term trauma for families of those who have been killed.
POMC along with other organizations like the Rio Grande Valley-Families and Friends of Murdered Children Inc. will hold an event to commemorate the Day of Remembrance on Monday, Sept. 25 from 6-9:30 p.m. at Pharr Boggus Ford Event Center.
Edinburg residents are invited to attend the event known as the Candlelight Vigil “As Long as I Breathe, You will be Remembered.”
