Edinburg Fire Department Donates Used Fire Equipment to the City of Monclova in Mexico
According to Texas Commission on Fire Protection, National Fire Protection Association and Occupational Safety Health Administration, the donated equipment does not meet current standards. Fire equipment must be retired every 10 years.
Rather than destroy the retired equipment, the Edinburg Fire Department opted to donate the items. The items donated include six pairs of rubber boots, 15 bunker pants, 15 bunker coats, 13 helmets, and 16 pairs of leather gloves.
Representatives of the City of Monclova were present to receive the donated items.
