City Council Proclaims Boys & Girls Clubs Day for Kids and Worldwide Day of Play in September
Edinburg, Texas (Sept. 6, 2017) – The Edinburg City Council issued two proclamations to mark Sept. 16 as Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids and Sept. 23 Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play in Edinburg.
The Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids is a special day set aside in September to encourage and remind adults that the meaningful time they share with children is important to the children’s development.
Families and communities are vital in helping children develop a positive self-image, sense of belonging, and a sense of competence. The day helps emphasize the importance of spending meaningful time with kids.
The City of Edinburg joins Nickelodeon, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, USA BMX, Girls Scouts of the USA, Kiwanis International/Key Club, President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition and many other organizations in celebrating Nickelodeon’s 13th annual Worldwide Day of Play.
Worldwide Day of Play celebrates all things play-related promoting nutritious diets and physical activity as an important component of healthy living.
