EDINBURG, TEXAS (June 5, 2018) – The Edinburg City Council recognized Anastacio Rodriguez for more than 30 years of service with the City of Edinburg.

Rodriguez began his career with the City in 1984 at the Parks & Recreation Department, but eventually found his way to the Edinburg Public Library where he is now the Senior Library Assistant.

For Rodriguez the involvement with the Edinburg community has always been extremely important to his job.

“My favorite part has been working with all these great individuals that I work with, and serving the community,” he said. “All the people that come through these doors – it’s always about them.”

Serving the community has always been a great driving force behind Rodriguez.

“I’ve always enjoyed coming to work every single day,” Rodriguez said. “It’s always been a drive for me to come to work and serve the public.”

Throughout his 31 years with the City, Rodriguez has been involved in many special projects including children’s programs, literacy outreach and the Edinburg Arts festivals, but the best part of his job is the relationships he’s built throughout the years.

“I just want to thank everybody that I’ve worked with,” Rodriguez concluded.

Rodriguez was born and raised in Edinburg. He and his wife, Marina, have two children and four, soon-to-be five, grandchildren.
