The Public Works Administration's goal is to develop and implement a responsible road surface management program in order to provide reliable services to its citizens and visitors. These services include: streets and alleys maintenance and/or construction, functional storm water system and drain ditch maintenance, sidewalks improvements and street lighting program. The department additionally procures required right-of-way for proposed improvements, performs review of proposed streets and drainage for commercial and residential subdivision developments, provide construction inspections to ensure city's requirements for minimum standards and specifications for public infrastructure are met.

The Public Works Department is primarily organized into three divisions:

• Streets Division
