| The tap fee required to be paid in advance of making a tap into the city water system is shown below. 3" meters and above shall be adjusted to reflect the actual cost incurred in making such tap and such adjusted amount shall be the actual tap fee included in the amount paid to the city prior to water service being supplied to the location involved. | The tap fee for the fire hydrant meter is $30 with a $20 deposit, for a total of $50. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sewer Tap Fees | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The City of Edinburg does not perform sewer tap fees; however, a sewer tap permit must be obtained by a licensed plumber at the Code Enforcement Division. The permit and inspection fee is $20 inside city limits and $40 outside city limits. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The City of Edinburg charges a 5% penalty on all accounts that are not paid by the due date. After two months of non-payment, the accounts are disconnected and there is a late fee of $10.00. Accounts that are connected after hours have a fee of $15.00. Unauthorized connections are charged with a $15.00 fee. The City of Edinburg Water Plant is open 24 Hours/day and 365 days of the year. On Weekends, holidays, and or "after hours" the Water Plant can be contacted at 956-383-5660 for any utility emergency. First National Bank – all Edinburg branches- take City of Edinburg water payments with a convenience fee of a $1.00. |
