The
Administration Division consists of 41 employees:
(1) Systems Superintendent, (1) Assistant Systems Superintendent,
(2) Utilities Supervisor, (1) Utilities Foreman, (6) Meter Reader
1, (3) Medium Equipment Opeator, (1) Heavy Equipment Operator, (1)
Senior Secretary 1, (16) Service Attendant 2, (5) Water Distribution
Foreman, (3) Sewer Collection Foreman, and (1) Inventory Specialist.

| Duties
and Responsibilities |
-
Reading
the water meters of approximately 16,596 accounts monthly and
performing associated tasks such as connects, disconnects, meter
rechecks, meter repairs, bench testing of meters, responding
to customer requests for service, and other miscellaneous duties.

Maintenance
of approximately 308 miles of water lines, 16,596 water meter
connections, grounds of the water reservoir, fire hydrants,
(5) water towers, and (3) booster stations, and for the construction
of water lines, fire hydrants, water taps, special projects,
and other related duties.

Maintenance
of approximately 242 miles of sanitary sewer lines, and for
the construction of sewer lines, manholes, and other related
duties.

| Goals
and Objectives |
-
Cast
iron water line replacements with PVC pipe by City crews and/or
contractual to replace deteriorated lines, improve water pressure
and volume, reduce interruptions to customers caused by water
breaks, and to extend lines to annexed areas.

Continue
the installation, replacement, and relocation of fire hydrants
to comply with the Texas Department of Health, State Board of
Insurance, and Fire Marshal requirements.

Continue
the rehabilitation program for the sanitary sewer collection
system manholes to prevent further deterioration of the system.

The
Systems Division offices are located at 1201 N. Doolittle.
The water distribution system consists of approximately 308 miles
of lines ranging in size from 4 to 30 inches. Fire protection
is provided in part by some 1,699 fire hydrants. The collection
system has approximately 242 miles of lines ranging in size from
6 to 36 inches. Forty-three (43) lift stations are dispersed
throughout the City.
