AWOS Information

AWOS III-PT

(Automated Weather Observation System)

  • VHF frequency broadcast: 118.025 MHz
  • Phone recording: (956) 587-0743

Our AWOS III provides pilots and the public with Edinburg airport weather observations including wind speed & direction, visibility, sky condition (up to 12,000 feet) including cloud ceilings, temperature (C°), dew point, altimeter, and any remarks that may include density altitude, precipitation (type), thunderstorm/lightning detection. This information is updated every 20 minutes and can be accessed via VHF frequency, telephone, or visually on display at the terminal lobby.

Along with hundreds of meteorological reporting sites from around the country, EBG’s AWOS information is disseminated to the Federal Aviation Administration's Weather Message Switching Center Replacement System through a National Airspace Data Interchange Network that relays critical real-time aviation climatic data and Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) ‘round the clock nationwide.

Current weather for the Edinburg area can be reached at National Weather Service (NOAA).
