Emergency Rental Assistance Programs
The City of Edinburg is currently providing Emergency Rental Assistance Programs to assist eligible applicants who currently reside inside the city limits. The programs are available for people who are renting/leasing their current place of residence. Residents who are in need of rental assistance may only apply for one of the following programs:
The goal of the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) is to help stabilize low- and moderate-income renters that have been financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. The program will provide up to six consecutive months of rental assistance to qualified applicants that reside inside the city limits of Edinburg.
The Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus Emergency Rental Assistance Program (CDBG-CV ERAP) has been developed to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) by providing emergency rental assistance for eligible households and/or individuals who are facing eviction due to a change in financial stability, such as job loss or a reduction in hours, as a result of COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide up to six (6) consecutive months of emergency rental assistance for qualified applicants living inside the city limits.
