The following monthly water/wastewater rates shall be charged for water/wastewater sold by the City:

For accounts that do not purchase water from the City, the same rates will apply; however, these accounts will be billed by their water service provider on the City's behalf.

Water Tap Fees

A schedule for water tap fees and associated costs and service deposits shall be reviewed and approved by the City Manager semi-annually on a cost basis on October 1 and April 1. Customers will be billed a one-time water tap fee as follows:

 Fire Hydrant Meter
 The tap fee for the fire hydrant meter is $30 with a $20 deposit, for a total of $50.

 Sewer Tap Fees
The City of Edinburg does not perform sewer tap fees; however, a sewer tap permit must be obtained by a licensed plumber at the Code Enforcement Division. The permit and inspection fee for residential is $65 inside city limits and $81.25 outside city limits, for multi-family is $90 inside city limits and $112.50 outside city limits. 

 

Payment Information
The City of Edinburg charges a 5% penalty on all accounts that are not paid by the due date. After two months of non-payment, the accounts are disconnected and there is a late fee of $25.00. Accounts that are connected after hours have a fee of $35.00. Unauthorized connections are charged with a $100.00 fee.

The City of Edinburg Water Plant is open 24 Hours/day and 365 days of the year. On Weekends, holidays, and or "after hours" the Emergency line is (956) 388-8220.
