Senior Citizen Program
The U.S. Fire Administration estimates that approximately 1,100 Americans age 65 and older die every year from household fires.
The Edinburg Fire Marshal's Office has developed a fire education program called, "Fire Prevention Loteria", which brings awareness and education to the senior citizens of our community.
The program utilizes the traditional game of bingo and incorporates fire prevention materials.
This summer program is made available to the adult daycare centers in our community which provides us access to our target audience.
