Records

The Records Department provides copies of accident reports and processes open records requests. To expedite your request, please provide specific details such as case numbers, dates, and names of persons involved.

Bodycam Videos $10.00 each + $1.00 per minute
Fingerprint Cards $5.00 per card (FREE for citizens that reside within the Edinburg City Limits)
Certified Copies $2.00 each
CDs / DVDs $1.00 / $3.00 each

Request Procedures

Open Records Request

As per the Texas Public Information Act, all requests for public information must be made in writing and should be for documents or information already in existence. The request should include the requestor's contact information such as mailing address, phone number, or email address.

Required Information for Faster Processing:

  • Case Number
  • Name(s), Date of Birth, Driver's License and/or Social Security Numbers of persons involved
  • Date/location (address) of the incident
  • Type of incident

Accident Report Request

Requests for Accident Reports can be made by mail or in person at the Edinburg Police Department. No fax, email, or phone requests will be accepted.

If the request is made by mail, the sender must include the $6.00 report fee (check or money order payable to the City of Edinburg), a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a copy of your ID or Driver's License. Requests may be dropped off or mailed to the address below:
