The Records Department provides copies of accidents report and processes open records requests.  Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  (Closed for City Holidays)

FEES:
Open Records Request:  There may be a fee for the open records.  We will contact you directly regarding any charges associated with your request.  
Accident Reports: $6.00
CD's: $1.00 each
DVD's: $3.00 each
Fingerprint Cards:  $5 per card and FREE for citizens that reside within the Edinburg City Limits

Open Records Request

Open Records Request
As per the Texas Public Information Act, all requests for public information must be made in writing and should be for documents or information already in existence.  The request should include the requestor's contact information such as mailing address, phone number or email address.  

In your request, please provide as much information as possible to expedite your request such as:
-Case Number
-Name(s), Date of Birth, Driver's License and/or Social Security Numbers of persons involved
-Date/location (address) of the incident
-Type of incident

Please Note:  The Texas Public Information Act does not require a government body to answer questions, perform legal research, or to create new information.

Accident Report Request

Accident Report Request

Requests for Accident Reports can be made by mail or in person at the Edinburg Police Department (1702 S. Closner Blvd.).  No fax, email or phone requests will be accepted.  If request is made by mail, sender must include the $6.00 report fee in the form of a check or money order (made payable to the City of Edinburg) and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  Mail requests to:
