The Right-of-Way (R.O.W. Division) manages and regulates activities within the city's right of way primarily regulating the activities of the city's roadway infrastructures. The R.O.W. Division also assists and manages to maintain city property grounds(i.e. city facilities, city landscape projects and sidewalks).
Right-of-Way Mowing: Mowing is done by sections as scheduled once a month. To report overgrown grass on public right-of-ways within the city, contact the Public Works Department at 956-388-8210, Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Trees: Trees within a public right-of-way will be trimmed only in the event that there is low hanging branches overlapping on to a public road or obstructing view of traffic signs and signals. It is a city ordinances that city crews do not cut or trim trees, palm trees located in alleys, easements or on private property.
Trees growing near electrical power lines are to be reported to the AEP at 1-877-373-4858 for tree trimming. Read More
