Commercial Services
Overview of Commercial Services
Commercial Service is provided to commercial business establishments, institutions, apartment(s), multi-family dwellings, flats, commercialized residence (consisting of three or more units), businesses or industrial premises. Except those who have received variance from this section, are required to subscribe to the City’s commercial collection service. Commercial customers are eligible to receive garbage and recycling services from the City of Edinburg after establishing a water account with the City's Utility Department. Commercial customers are able to utilize our recycling drop off center. For more specific information see our Recycling Services tab.
DSWM conducts commercial collection services 6 days per week, Monday through Saturday. Businesses are provided services and charged by a variable rate schedule depending on the volume of waste generated. The cleanliness and sanitation of the dumpsters and the enclosure is the responsibility of the owner or account holder and can be done so by using a mild detergent and water hose as needed for the dumpster. DSWM does not perform collection of trash and/or debris left in the enclosure, these services are not part of the fees associated with garbage pick up. Brush & Bulky Items collection for commercial accounts is available for an additional charge to commercial customers with an established water account. To setup a pick up please contact DSWM at (956) 381-5635; in order to avoid any penalties or charges we encourage that owners/ account holders maintain their enclosures clean and clear of trash and/or debris.

Exclusive Provider
The City of Edinburg is the exclusive provider of solid waste and recycling services for residences, businesses and industry in the City of Edinburg city limits. Private haulers may NOT collect from any location within the City; if the City is unable to provide a specialized service to a particular establishment or business (such as hazardous waste collection) then the resident or business owner must receive written authorization from the City in order to contract with a Private hauler. That hauler must then provide the service as prescribed by the Department of Solid Waste Management.
