Recycling Services Overview

Let us help you start your own home recycling program with our curbside recycling pick up. A minimum service charge of $5 will be added to your monthly water bill. Here is a quick guide to what is available for collection with our blue cart!

All new single family residents are eligible to receive recycling collection services from the City of Edinburg after establishing a water account with the City's Utility Department; or if you are an established  residential customer with a brownstone wheeled cart from Department of Sanitation, you are also able to  get a blue cart for recycling, please complete this form .

Please refer to calendar for scheduled service. Have your containers out by thecurb before 7:00 A.M. on the day of service. All bins must be taken off the curb by 7:00 P.M. on your collection day. Containers should only be on the curb on collections pickup days. There is no set time for pickups of bins on scheduled days.

The cleanliness and sanitation of the container will be the responsibility of the resident and can be done so by using a mild detergent and water hose as needed.

The City of Edinburg is the exclusive provider of solid waste and recycling services for residences, businesses and industry in the City of Edinburg city limits. Private haulers may NOT collect from any location within the City; if the City is unable to provide a specialized service to a particular establishment or business (such as hazardous waste collection) then the resident or business owner must receive written authorization from the City in order to contract with a Private hauler. That hauler must then provide the service as prescribed by the Department of Solid Waste Management.
