Hometown of Heroes Half-Marathon

The City of Edinburg presents the “Hometown of Heroes” Half-Marathon! The race features a flat, fast course through some of the city’s featured destinations, including HEB Park, Municipal Park, Jackson Road Hike n’ Bike Trail, UTRGV, McIntyre Promenade, and more.

This event will be taking place on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 7 a.m. The Start / Finish line will be located at City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department at 315 E. Palm Drive, Edinburg, Texas 78539.  (315 E. Mark S. Pena Dr.)

Registration is now available online ONLY. For participating on the Half Marathon, runners will have to pay a fee of $50, which includes chip-timing, a face mask (gaiter), technical t-shirt, and finisher medal. A 2-Person Relay option is also available.

Once registered, you can pick up your packet anytime on the following dates only, which will also indicate the time of the start of the race per runner.

9am - 5pm     March 8th through March 11th.
10am – 2pm   March 12th

Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken which includes physical distancing, wearing face masks (except while running,) and the start of each runner's turn will be staggered. All runners will be chip-timed with one runner beginning approximately every 10-15 seconds.

For the safety of others, spectators will not be permitted at the start or finishing line areas.  Unattended water stations with no cups being provided will be available (although, we highly encourage to bring your own water,) and unattended sanitizing areas will also be provided.
