(STXIFF) is back and celebrating its seventh year of existence. Since its inception, the mission of the festival has been to provide a platform for artistic filmmakers to showcase their talent and creativity. As a City of Edinburg festival, STXIFF has surpassed all expectations and established itself as a leading film festival in South Texas.

Over the course of the 4-day festival, STXIFF will present film screenings and industry related workshops at the City of Edinburg Municipal Auditorium and City Hall. Opening the festival on Wednesday, January 19th, will be the premiere of feature film, Fist of Justice, starring Award Winning Tejano Artist Magali Delarosa, and The Collapse Documentary of Queen Isabella Causeway at Cinemark Bistro Edinburg.

This year’s festival is comprised of 12 features and 34 shorts from over 10 countries. The lineup includes 12 narrative, 4 documentary features, 34 short narrative films, 6 short documentaries, 4 animated films and 7 music videos. Film screenings are free to the public and on a first come, first serve basis.

Festival line up also includes celebrity guests, Valente Rodriguez, Raul Castillo, Tejano Artist Magali Delarosa and S8NT ELEKTRIC. S8NT ELEKTRIC is a rock band, influenced by all types of rock, alternative, and even disco.
