The Airport Advisory Board regularly convenes bi-monthly, second Thursday of the month, 2:00 p.m. at the terminal conference room. During these public meetings Department of Aviation staff inform the board of operational statistics, fixed base operator performance including avfuels sales, capital improvement plans & projects.

The Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals' purpose is that of providing for the final interpretation of provisions of the Building Code and Fire Code. The board shall establish rules and regulations for its own procedure not inconsistent with the provisions of the code. The Board meets regularly every last Wednesday of the month.

The Community Development Council (CDC) advises the City Council on community development priorities, policies, and the allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The CDC reviews proposed projects, assesses community needs, supports public engagement, monitors program performance, and provides input on key planning documents, including the Consolidated Plan (Con Plan), Annual Action Plan (AAP), Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), and Citizen Participation Plan (CPP). CDC meetings and public hearings are open to the public and are typically held on the second Thursday of each month, as needed.

The Civil Service Commission provides classification for Civil Service police officers. They establish these classifications by ordinance and prescribe the number of positions in each classification as specified under the Municipal Civil Service Act. The Commission Meets As Needed.

The purpose of the Committee is to improve the Downtown District which includes the two main thoroughfares, Closner Boulevard and University Drive. The Committee will identify the areas of ownership and zoning, finance and economic development, community use, compare similar communities, and conduct community outreach practices. They will also provide the Council with innovative ideas and activities for the future redevelopment of the Downtown District.

Edinburg Little League shall have full power to adopt bylaws for the regulation of its business and affairs. It shall have the duty of exercising general supervision over a comprehensive program of the Little League baseball and softball recreation activities and services in the city. The Board shall have like powers and duties with reference to other public or privately run Little League chartered programs. The Board meets as needed.

Public Safety Advisory Board function is to advise the Chief of Police, Chief of the Fire Department, Mayor, City Council, City Manager, and City staff regarding programs, policies, and procedures that impact public safety; review and make recommendations on community livability concerns related to crime and fire prevention and traffic safety issues that affect public safety and the community livability; review and make recommendations for police/fire department-community partnerships to mitigate the negative influence of crime, fire damage, and traffic on the community; promote public education and awareness of the effects of crime and fear of crime on the community; to provide a forum to discuss both immediate and long range solutions; and to carry out such other activities as the City Council may assign. The board meets regularly every fourth Thursday of the month.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals where it is alleged there is error of law in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Building Inspector. The Board of Commissioners may from time to time amend, supplement or change by ordinance the boundaries of the districts or the regulations herein established. The Board meets regularly on the last Wednesday of the month.
