The Passport Acceptance Facility is certified by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affair Passport Services.
Appointments
The Passport Acceptance Facility accepts ONLY by appointment. If you have any questions about your appointment or the application process, please contact the City of Edinburg Passports Division at call (956) 388-8205 or send an email at passports@cityofedinburg.com.
What to Bring (Checklist)
- 1. Passport Application: Form DS-11 completely filled out.
- 2. Identification: Valid State ID/Driver’s License PLUS a copy of the front and back.
- 3. Proof of Citizenship: Certified Birth Certificate (Long Form) or Naturalization Certificate PLUS a copy.
- 4. Social Security: Must provide Social Security Number.
- 5. Photos: Two (2) 2x2 color photographs.
Fees & Payment (Two Separate Payments Required)
A separate check or money order is required for EACH applicant.
Payment 1: City of Edinburg
- $35.00 Processing Fee
- $15.00 Photo Fee (if applicable)
Payment 2: U.S. Dept of State
The amount depends on the applicant's age and type of passport.

Requirements for Children & Minors
Under Age 16: Both parents AND the applicant must be present. If one parent cannot be present, the DS-3053 form must be signed, notarized, and presented with a copy of the absent parent's ID (front/back).
Ages 16-17: If the applicant does not have their own ID, at least one parent must be present.
