The Friends of the Edinburg Library, established in 1979, is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Library through advocacy, volunteerism, and contributions that positively impact the lives of people in Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley.

Over the years, the Friends have sponsored a variety of programs and events, including reading programs for all ages, art exhibits, author signings, book reviews, travel presentations, and guest speakers from diverse fields. In partnership with the Library, they have also supported National Library Week and organized book raffles.
