Texas Workforce Commission is Here to Help
We understand the difficulties that everyone as a country is going through while trying to stay at home and slow the spread as much as possible. According to the U.S Department of Labor’s statistics, the number of unemployed persons rose by 1.4 million to 7.1 million in March of 2020.
If you were currently laid off due to COVID-19 the first thing you want to do is file for unemployment through Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). You can call our local TWC office at (956) 984-7280.
By calling this number, a representative will help you fill out the form for you, or you can fill it out yourself online by visiting their website here. After you’ve filed for unemployment, you can contact Workforce Solutions for assistance in finding a new job.
They also recently released “Larry the Chat Bot,” an automated program which allows individuals to enter information relevant to their claims in a chat with a virtual assistant. “Larry” was programmed to initially understand the most common questions that people using the UI website have. This small subset of questions consumes a large portion of the call center workload. With its artificial intelligence matrix, “Larry” will “learn” more questions and more ways to help Texans over time, resulting in a much more efficient UI application process.
For more information, you can contact them at (956) 928-5000.
