Edinburg, TX—
The Edinburg Police Department is set to launch the ‘Edinburg Teen Police Academy,’ a new initiative aimed at facilitating a positive relationship with city youth as they foster an interest in a career in law enforcement.

The week-long program will allow participants to learn more about core police functions, such as patrol, special operations, and crime scene investigation, through hands-on activities at the CPL Derek Hernandez Police Training Facility, located at 1309 N. Doolittle Road.

The academy is free of charge and is open to City of Edinburg high school students (public, private, or homeschooled) entering the 10th, 11th, or 12th grades during the 2024-2025 school year.
