SPARC – Round 2 Funding Now Available
APPLY HERE NOW
The City of Edinburg has developed the Stimulus Program Aimed at Recovery from COVID (SPARC) to assist small, locally-owned businesses with economic recovery during the coronavirus pandemic. Recognizing that many businesses and residents have suffered financial hardship due to the pandemic, the City Council unanimously approved $2.5 million, funded by the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to help support the recovery efforts of the local economy.
The City directed the first round of SPARC grants to small businesses mandated to close under state and local orders (e.g., restaurants, salons, gyms). More than 250 small, locally-owned businesses joined the SPARC network and received grants of $2,000. The City is now launching a second round of funding, available to all small businesses in Edinburg, regardless of industry category. In order to qualify, your business must meet the following criteria:
Be located in the city of Edinburg (physical address)
Have fewer than 50 employees
Have less than $500,000 in annual sales or revenue
Have a City of Edinburg Work Safe Plan
Have not received a SPARC grant yet
