Passport Processing Requirements

The Passport Acceptance Facility accepts walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The Passport Acceptance Facility is certified by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affair Passport Services. 
 
Passport Processing Requirements
1. Passport Application (Form DDS-11) completely filled out.
2. Valid State ID or Drivers License.
3. Copy of Valid State ID/Driver’s License.
4. Certified Birth Certificate (long form) or Certificate of Naturalization.
5. Copy of Certified Birth Certificate (Long form) or Certificate of Naturalization.
6. Must provide Social Security No.’s
7. Two 2x2 Photographs
8. Two checks or money orders for EACH applicant:
  • First check or money order made payable to: THE CITY OF EDINBURG 
  • Second check or money order made payable to: U.S. DEPT OF STATE
  • $35.00 Processing Fee
  • $15.00 Photo Fee

(THE PASSPORT PRICES DEPEND ON THE AGE CATEGORY OF THE APPLICANT AND ON THE TYPE OF PASSPORT THE APPLICANT SELECTS)

Note:
 Both parents along with the applicant must be present during the passport process for children under the age of 16. If only one parent can be present at the time of the processing the DS-3053 must be completed and signed by the absent parent. The absent parent must also provide a copy of their ID front and back.


For applicants 16-18 years old who do not have an ID at least one parent must be present at the time of the processing along with the applicant.
