Assistant City Manager, Jesus R. Saenz
Mr. Saenz has been with the City for 8 years and most recently served as the Planning and Zoning Director for the last 4 and half years. Prior to his work with the City of Edinburg, Mr. Saenz worked for the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council for nine years as Assistant Director of Regional Transit Services, Operations Supervisor, and Planner. Saenz is a native of Edinburg and has a BA in Political Science with a minor Human Resource Management from the University of Texas Pan American. He’s scheduled to complete a Masters of Public Affairs with a concentration in Public Administration in May 2020. Under the general direction of the City Manager, the Assistant City Manager works on a full range of municipal management issues. The Assistant City Manager resolves problems or conflicts that may arise in the City government, helps establish good management practices, and assists with directing administrative staff. The Assistant City Manager implements directives and initiatives with the City government. Responsibilities include interpreting policy and provides direction related to the City's vision, mission and goals, policies and procedures.
