Edinburg, TX - Exciting news is on the horizon as the Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department prepares to reveal a significant development for the community. Join them for a press conference on Tuesday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the boxing facility located inside the Parks and Recreation Department, 315 E. Mark S. Peña Drive, where they'll unveil the full details.

Scheduled for the first weekend of May, the Junior Olympic Amateur Boxing is expected to showcase over 400 youth amateur boxers from ages 8 to 16, demonstrating their skills from May 3-5, 2024. Participants from across South Texas will be organized by age, weight class, and gender, competing for championship medals, championship jackets, and trophies.

Residents are encouraged to attend and witness extraordinary athleticism. In collaboration with the South Texas Amateur Boxing Association, the City of Edinburg is committed to nurturing young talent in sports by providing free sign-ups for those who want to participate.
