Council Passes Revised Unified Development Code

EDINBURG, TX – The City of Edinburg adopted its Unified Development Code on August 6, 2007, and its new Official Zoning Map on October 12, 2007. The first amendment to the UDC, providing minor corrections, was adopted on November 6, 2007. 

Our City has evolved, and our development regulations needed to  be updated with modern demands and expectations. Last year, the City began a historic update to its UDC. After months of meetings, research, work and insight from our committees, community members, and consultant, the Kendig Keast Collaborative, a final draft of the revised UDC is ready for adoption. The Edinburg City Council has finally passed the revised, Unified Development Code on Tuesday,  August 9th, 2022.
