City of Edinburg To Celebrate Annual FridaFest This Saturday!
EDINBURG, TX – The City of Edinburg would like to invite the community to our 2021 FridaFest, a festival that celebrates renowned Mexican Artist, Frida Kahlo along with the spirit of perseverance and empowerment. This annual festival will take place at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 starting at 3 p.m.
FridaFest is free and open to the public and will include live music, artists, look-a-like contests, food vendors, plenty of children’s activities and lots of great Frida inspired art. FridaFest will include three stages featuring musical, dance and art performances. Join the reigning Ms. Edinburg Frida, Sofia Tijerina, as well as other official Edinburg FridaFest performers as they bring to life the paintings of the iconic Frida Kahlo.
Enjoy live art demonstrations, Frida’s Zoo, and a cooling station for the summer heat. The Women’s Exhibit will be available inside the Edinburg City Hall lobby and all artwork will be available for sale.
This year’s festival will once again include a fan favorite, the Frida Procession, that will take place in the City Hall Courtyard. During the FridaFest procession, the festival will strive to set a record for the “Largest gathering of people dressed as Frida Kahlo”.
At 6 p.m., FridaFest will also host the Women’s Empowerment Panel, join us as we celebrate women from the community who have made an impact and a difference in their respective fields while highlighting their accomplishments. Visit the All-Female Artist Exhibit and attend the artist panel and enjoy the artists' stories of inspiration.
The festivities will continue till 10 p.m. with live music and entertainment as well as delicious festival food and refreshing beverages. All activities are family friendly, and the beautiful City Hall Courtyard and McIntyre Promenade are pet friendly as well.
