Edinburg Cultural Arts to host guitar classes at the ACE

Edinburg, TX - The City of Edinburg, in partnership with the Edinburg Arts Foundation, has announced its Fall 2026 lineup of interactive music classes and workshops at the Edinburg ACE Center, located at 315 W. McIntyre St.

Participants will strum, pluck, and create under the guidance of accomplished guitarist Manuel Lopez from the renowned UTRGV Mariachi Aztlán. Bringing an advanced academic and performance background, Lopez will guide adult beginners through a hands-on exploration of mariachi and jazz guitar. Students will learn the unique rhythms, foundational chords, and stylistic techniques that define these two rich musical genres.

Class Dates: September 30 - October 28 | Wednesdays and Fridays

Session Times: Adult Beginner Mariachi, 4:30 p.m - 6:00 p.m | Adult Beginner Jazz, 6:15 p.m - 7:45 p.m

Location: Edinburg ACE Center, 315 W. McIntyre St., Edinburg

Cost: $100 per participant | Registration Deadline: September 30, 2026

Supplies Included: Standard acoustic guitar, guitar picks, music/guitar stand, chord charts, and sheet music.

Curriculum Focus: All participants will learn proper hand positioning, fundamental strumming patterns, and essential chord progressions needed to play classic mariachi melodies and smooth jazz standards.
